This beginner-friendly weekly practice combines Hasta Mudra — the yogic practice of hand seals — with a guided Logic of the Heart to free ourselves from thoughts/judgements, feelings/sensations and find rest and rejuvenation through empathy, inner peace, and samhas.
Logic of the Heart is pranayama (breathing) for the soul: we release spiritual substances and their complements through multi-sensory imagination and separation, using pratyahara to turn our conscious perception inward. This practice gives us a concrete step-by-step process to clear the mind, release attachments, and find a neutral, objective, compassionate experience towards ourselves and others.
The sanskrit “namaste” means “the eternal light in me honors the eternal light in you” but how do we actually experience this? Logic of the Heart is one “how” to find this inner acceptance of all things without judgement, without attachment to outcome.
We practice regularly because we humans aren’t perfect: we can’t stay in a true state of inner peace indefinitely. We practice so that this soul-breathing process can become as natural as physical breathing, so that when life throws us challenges and obstacles, we can use this skill to process our reactions and respond from a broader more empathic perspective.
